The Revelation of the Cross for You by Roland Ramirez, (spent twenty years in the making of this book), gives readers a greater understanding of how the crucifixion of Christ reversed curses set forth by sin.

Taking the reader back to the beginning, this is a fast-paced read to understand the nature of crucifixion, its origins, and its purpose in the Roman Empire. He blends historical and Biblical facts, Adam and Eve’s sin compared to the cross, and how that represents our healing from the cross. We are set free from not only sin, but shame, guilt, and so much more. He weaves such an interesting read that one will come to understand that he did not receive this revelation from any other source, yet this has been revealed to the author through prayer and the Word. This is a powerful and easy-to-read book that brings wonderful and compassionate insight to the multiple blessings of the cross for you.

Brief and to the point, the author stays true to Scripture with chapters such as: The Crucifixion, The Triumphal Entry, The Prayer in the Garden, The Sweat, The Blindfold, Scourged, The Crown of Thorns, The Beard and The Cheeks, The Reed and The Staff, The Hands, The Feet, Forsaken, The Last Breath, The Side, The Focus with Multiple Purposes, The Tree of Life, Conclusion & Suggested Prayer of Salvation. All chapters focus on the wounds and significance of the wounds received by Jesus in His own body on the cross and what that means for you.

Truly, this man has written as directed by the Lord and helps one to deeply understand the suffering and the significance of The Revelation of the Cross for You!

A highly recommended read for ALL, whether believer or not!

Walking in the Light: Following in His Steps

Title: Walking in the Light: Following in His Steps
By: Jon von Ernst
A CBM Christian Book Review
10.0 out of 10.0 stars

Walking in the Light - Following in His Steps by Jon von Ernst is truly an amazing book revealing some of the deeper truths of Scripture. This book, book three of his trilogy series, emphasizes the “much more” of Romans 5:8-10 that is available to every true Christian, than just having their sins forgiven and being reconciled to God.

The author takes the reader into a deeper understanding of the power of God working within the believer’s life to enable them to live holy lives worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven. He examines such timely topics as the proper understanding of grace, the question of eternal security, and the supreme importance of an intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The author believes that many professing Christians have not received the Holy Spirit and are therefore struggling with sin in their lives. He stresses the importance of their coming to know Jesus, not just to know about Jesus. He teaches that in order to have this intimate relationship with Jesus, we must begin by being born again, born of the Spirit. He does this with the ever-present encouragement for the reader not to accept anyone’s teachings, including his own, at face value, but to search the Scriptures to determine if those teachings are true.

This book and series come highly recommended for unbelievers, new believers, and Christians alike no matter their maturity level. This is an easy-to-read, yet life-altering Biblical study that anyone can understand. This is a wonderful series for group Bible study or for individual study. It is designed to bring deeper intimacy with Christ through knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Master of all things in the believer’s life.

CBM Book Review - The Ordained Demon: The Story of a Young Priest

Title: The Ordained Demon: The Story of a Young Priest
By: Oladapo Richard Osuntokun MD
A CBM Christian Book Review
10.0 out of 10.0 stars

The Ordained Demon: The Story of a Young Priest by Oladapo R. Osuntokun, MD, portrays a fictional account of a priest named Michael. Written to display the cunning deceit and treachery of Satan, this thriller is written to teach how to overcome Satan’s temptations. Exciting and sorrowful, Michael’s life was full of promise. Character, pride, and not relying on the Spirit of God all shed light on how Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Be not one of his victims as the author has blended a fictional account, yet according to the Bible, is true of Satan’s tactics.

The purpose of this book is to expose the works of the enemy upon mankind. Basing his story on the story of Hannah in the beginning, she pleads to God to end her barrenness and receives a child from God. Michael is her answer to her pleading and the author has woven fictional accounts of stories that blend other scenarios derived from Biblical representations, teaching premise from the Bible throughout each chapter.

Growing up Michael is the epitome of the perfect child, excelling academically, never relying on himself, but rather on God’s providence. Until confusion, emptiness, and a progression of a lack of focus come into play. His life destiny seems blindsided by temptations. The book prevails in teaching how Satan attacks the children of God, stealing from their God-ordained futures.

Reflections and Straight Talk at the end of each chapter reveal the true Biblical wisdom from each chapter, alongside the encouragement and suggestions from in the straight talk portion to keep going.

This is a thrilling read that encompasses the Catholic priestly anointing and the ordaining of a demon set to bring destruction.

The fictional story is not so far-fetched! A wonderfully creative and vivid read teaching and admonishing those who do read it to know Christ, but to know Satan’s craftiness even more!

Highly recommended for a Christian fictional movie that perhaps could be made into a movie.

As one crying out in the wilderness like John the Baptist, “Make straight and prepare a way for the Lord,” Clinton Bezan has written his book, Truth Cries Out. Being instructed by the Lord to speak to people about their eternal salvation combined with the truth and validity of the Bible, he wants readers to know time is short. He states whether you are a believer, or a person questioning which faith is the truth, this book offers a “burden of proof” to those wavering in unbelief and skepticism. He urges all to understand that God is real, there is an afterlife of Heaven and Hell, and that God loves you, and as a good Father. The author states that God wants to save you from this world and bring you into safety here and to Heaven.

With such chapters as: The Ultimate Moral Dilemma, The Spirit of Unbelief, Of Heaven and Hell, Universal Truth, The Science of Creation, Biblical Brilliance, Cups and Covenants, Changed Hearts and Changed Lives, God’s Hand in Our World, Signs of the Harvest, What About the Rapture? Truth Cries Out is an invitation to know Jesus, and know His Word, offering an understanding of the culture we live in today. Interesting and compelling, this book seeks to uplift those seeking truth in their lives, giving readers purpose in life and exhorts all to pursue Christ earnestly.

Testimonies and key examples of individuals, including those in ministries and even movies of those whose lives were dramatically changed by Jesus Christ. Most were mere individuals who experienced dramatic miracles and visions that changed them. Invigorating, he gives facts of God’s miraculous power at work, as they had encountered Jesus in their daily lives. Miracle healings, visions of hell, and overwhelming conviction of obedience make this an invigorating read challenging readers to walk in daily obedience.

This comes as a  highly recommended and informative read that speaks the truth in our generation. The author is calling out to readers and speaking to their souls. He offers eternity and salvation in the truth of salvation for unbelievers, skeptics, and even those of other religions. Truth Cries Out is a book of righteousness amid a world bent on living without God.

Additionally, this book is recommended to believers that are burnt out and need a fresh wind in their faith to be set on fire for the Lord. For the unbeliever, this is a must-read.

A CBM Christian Book Review - The SOTH Initiative: Book 2: The Fallout

The SOTH Initiative: Book 2: The Fallout - Sect of the Healed Chronicles by Dean Brior continues as a fantastic and entertaining cyber thriller. “Awareness” – The Trojan horse software created by the SOTH’s to be uploaded to every phone, every tablet, laptop, and mainframe that is online. This would bring the “Great Reveal” putting on display ancient artifacts proving the existence of God.

We find Dr. Lindey in book two having now travelled the world, finally discovering the long kept archeological relics to reveal the truth to the world. By his side are key leadership connections of SOTH’s, some being the last-known surviving generation of SOTH families, which have now come together to volunteer their time to assist with the “Great Revealing”. This does not come without a cost or immense repercussion.

Book two begins in Aksum, Ethiopia and then back to the Naples facility, much has happened. Dr. Lindey has grown in faith. He has also come to terms with some things in his immediate family, to include God’s timetable, not synchronizing with his own timing.

The book is in full swing with characters Sarah Johnson, Akifah, and other loyal SOTH members working in unity to reveal the long held secret of the SOTH’s.

The Ark of the Covenant is one of those relics hidden away and is now being revealed. Still the battle continues as the Cleansing Group, comprised of a grouping of nonreligious, religious, and political groups, track the moving of the Ark of the Covenant to prevent the truth from being revealed.

Surprising twists come and what happens in book two will keep readers on the edge of their seat. Truly, “good Christian fiction,” as quoted from the author’s bio.

I look forward to a possible third book entitled, The Creed.

This was an exciting and creative Christian fiction series with elements of the supernatural, espionage, suspense, DNA research, and the latest technology that offers an enlightening, present day chase that will bring a deep conviction of faith.

I absolutely enjoyed the characters, the suspense, the flipping back and forth from different timelines, and the tying of the artifacts to the Temple, especially to the 7 lampstands. This book is a descriptive, well-written and organized read that truly had me asking, “What will happen next?”

I would keep this author on my radar and hopefully this can be turned in a great Christian fiction movie that will lead many to faith in Christ.

A CBM Christian Book Review - The Classroom Called Life

The Classroom Called Life by Darren Bennett is a collection of 40 life lessons from the author’s life and experiences. With a wonderful and delightful Christian perspective, witty quotes complement his short stories that tie into each “Life Lesson.”

Writing from a positive and inspiring attitude on life, he shares these life lessons, coupled with a few do’s and don’ts. He speaks with candor and humility, sharing his life as an open book with others, as he endeavors to teach what he has learned in what he calls, “the classroom of life.” What else would you expect from a life-long teacher.

Readers will enjoy, being given the opportunity to reflect upon their own lives from a man who has been a high school teacher for 25 years and recently retired. Bennett seems to have a real and genuine zest to live life that is certainly catchy. Quickly, readers understand that he is an outgoing personality that appreciates God in His goodness, family, and friends. Some of his stories share laughter, joy, as he shares such details as his own conversion to Christianity, and reflects back upon the Lord’s work with great thankfulness. Certain stories wake up one’s soul. Others, are quite funny, while others will really make one think about the issues of life.

Surviving a cyclone, crocodiles, a praying friend, and a sinking ship come to mind, all memorable, yet this man’s tales, even the mundane, like visiting his old house growing up become interesting. A sprinkling of photos add to the book and each experience he shares.

My personal favorite is when he talks about the presence of God entering a busy room of kids and what happened next. God is all about winning souls, and for the most part, this story reveals God goes after the lost, the one – and one at a time. The author’s joy and humility shine through each particular life lesson.

Overall, this was a fun book to read! The author’s love for life and God give hope and will put a smile on your face. Readers will not be disappointed!

CBM Book Review - The Impossible Change: Lesbian to Missionary

Title: The Impossible Change: Lesbian to Missionary
By: Priscilla Navaroli
A CBM Christian Book Review
10.0 out of 10.0 stars

From a broken foundation to a new life in Christ, Pricilla Navaroli’s memoir describes The Impossible Change: Lesbian to Missionary.

Powerful, she shares the darkness and brokenness of family dysfunction, coupled with divorce and traumatic childhood sexual abuse, that led to a life of woundedness, trying to escape and endure feelings of  deep rejection and abandonment. Rebelling as a teen, she soon found a way to numb the pain through drugs and alcohol. This toxic cycle of events in her life eventually led to  becoming a lifestyle of sin and promiscuity with both sexes. At the age of forty-five the author describes an amazing encounter and leading of the Lord. Coming to Christ in a dramatic way, her testimony is one that sheds light on a love story between her and God. She often speaks of God’s grace and love, as she reveals the emotional healing that came into her life because of knowing the love of Christ that initially led her into repentance. Her story is inspirational and also relational, as the author reveals how Jesus healed the bitterness of her soul, giving her a new life of hope and joy in serving Him. She went on to become one who serves Christ wholeheartedly as a missionary.

The author wants others to know that doing things your own way will only take you so far. Her book displays that until she did life God’s way, only then was she able to overcome the temptations and not fall back into her old ways. Addressing the deep rejection, abuse, and unforgiveness she harbored in her heart, her testimony also reveals how God can give one a new and clean heart, thus enabling one to lose all the shame and guilt of the past. Scripture verses teach God’s way, yet she does not preach to readers. Her point in including these verses is for others to gain knowledge of the truth of God and His Word that will bring freedom in one’s life.

This is a highly recommended read for those that have also had similar pasts and need to find purpose, hope, peace, and joy once again. Her book speaks boldly to those readers and says, “God can do the impossible and make living in wholeness possible, but only through Him.”

This is a heart-touching and life-changing read!

CBM Book Review - Westward Lies the Sun

Title: Westward Lies the Sun ( A Novel)
By: Robert H. Kono
A CBM Christian Book Review
10.0 out of 10.0 stars

Westward Lies the Sun (A Novel) by Robert H. Kono is an epic novel blending historical fiction of the Japanese internment camps during WWII with the grandeur of love, romance, legacy, Samurai and Japanese heritage with the question of God and the reality of the spiritual realm.

The novel unfolds revealing Greg, his life and past, as the author captures each time period of his life well. Greg’s conversations with his friends and his own self-doubt being a Japanese American experiencing his own subculture being Japanese, which has caused Greg to question his own self-worth stemming from teenage years. Feeling culturally divided coupled with the trauma he had to endure throughout his growing up years, he feels displaced culturally. “He felt as though he were a pioneer or explorer, out to hack his way through the wilderness of the identity question.” (p. 11) This is just an example of the writer’s way of conveying this mental tug-of-war within the main character, Greg.

From a Christian perspective, the novel speaks on Greg’s personal reflections upon God, His existence and why bad things happen upon the Earth without cramming the Christian religion down one’s throat. This is much appreciated as the author gives enough information and Scripture to just make readers “think for themselves.”

Greg, as a staunch humanist, spends time with his four friends at their poker games that reveal much conversation about God. The book reveals a dark past for Greg and his family, being of Japanese descent during WWII and the horror of the camps. Their only crime, being Japanese, Greg reveals the loss of a family heirloom, in which he goes searching for. The epic continues as Greg and his family survive a shipwreck on an island, which ends up giving them life amid their tragedy. This book is a movie in the making with a dreamy, mysterious, and memorable title!

With a beautiful ending, surprises and twists along the way, the book keeps the attention of readers. I was hooked from chapter one. The beautiful descriptions of the lake and the cultural tensions that the Japanese experienced during the time of WWII provide an interesting backdrop. The author gives readers a true appreciation for family, love, patriotism, combined with dark overtones of racism prevalent during the WWII era, while also sharing Christianity in such a way that makes sense, giving equity a voice.

An absolutely fascinating novel with an epic title made for the big screen!
