The Ordained
Demon: The Story of a Young Priest by Oladapo R. Osuntokun, MD, portrays a
fictional account of a priest named Michael. Written to display the cunning
deceit and treachery of Satan, this thriller is written to teach how to
overcome Satan’s temptations. Exciting and sorrowful, Michael’s life was full
of promise. Character, pride, and not relying on the Spirit of God all shed
light on how Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Be not one of his victims
as the author has blended a fictional account, yet according to the Bible, is
true of Satan’s tactics.
The purpose of
this book is to expose the works of the enemy upon mankind. Basing his story on
the story of Hannah in the beginning, she pleads to God to end her barrenness
and receives a child from God. Michael is her answer to her pleading and the
author has woven fictional accounts of stories that blend other scenarios derived
from Biblical representations, teaching premise from the Bible throughout each
chapter.
Growing up Michael
is the epitome of the perfect child, excelling academically, never relying on
himself, but rather on God’s providence. Until confusion, emptiness, and a
progression of a lack of focus come into play. His life destiny seems blindsided
by temptations. The book prevails in teaching how Satan attacks the children of
God, stealing from their God-ordained futures.
Reflections and
Straight Talk at the end of each chapter reveal the true Biblical wisdom from
each chapter, alongside the encouragement and suggestions from in the straight
talk portion to keep going.
The fictional
story is not so far-fetched! A wonderfully creative and vivid read teaching and
admonishing those who do read it to know Christ, but to know Satan’s craftiness
even more!
Highly recommended
for a Christian fictional movie that perhaps could be made into a movie.
